Want to serve?

At Spotswood Church West, we rely heavily on a large number of volunteers who love Jesus and sacrificially serve His Church, all for the sake of the Gospel! If you visit West and enjoy a good cup of coffee or the music in our worship service; if you’re welcomed by a greeter and pointed in the right direction or notice your child is well cared for in Kids ministry – you have been affected by the faithful service of one of our incredible volunteers!

To our volunteers: thank you for using your time and talent for God’s glory and the good of others!

Set-up & tear-down

Point of Contact: Travis Elkins // This team is responsible for unloading all our gear from the Church On Wheels trailer, creating our ministry environments, and - at the end of our Sunday gathering - putting everything away again. No special skills required.

Point of Contact: Mallory Butler // It takes a village to raise a child! It takes the involvement of the whole church to pull off ministry to kids from birth-grade 5. If you're looking for a place to serve, we need you to join our team!

Point of Contact: Will Thorpe // We have opportunities for musicians and singers of all styles. We will soon have opportunities for younger students to be introduced into the larger music world.

Point of Contact: Tony Webster // Our First Impressions team creates an inviting environment on Sunday mornings. Members of this team are in the parking lot, in the lobby, in the coffee corner and at our mobile library. If you can smile and offer a welcoming handshake, you’re perfect for this ministry.

Also included in first impressions are our ushers, who collect and count our offering and provide security for the church. If you could see yourself in any of these roles, reach out to Tony.

Mission Rwanda

(Postponed due to COVID-19. New Dates TBD) Pastor Vic and a small team from west will visit Kigali, Rwanda to partner with IMB missionary Josiah Lutrull. The purpose of the trip is to train and help equip local Christian leaders to be effective church leaders. While on the ground, the team will (1) teach as many classes as possible (approximately 40 people per class) on various subjects and books of the Bible, (2) get onto a local university to work with campus small group leaders, (3) encourage Josiah and his wife (and 4 kids), (4) share the gospel as able, (5) research / plan for future work, and (6) pray for the ministry.
